Moon Funnels $250,000 To Bush Inauguration

Here is how Rev. Moon, Washington Times owner and self-declared Messiah, manages to appear in the second paragraph of a Washington Post story about huge donations, while remaining almost completely invisible as a major Bush patron. Writes private investigator Larry Zilliox:
The list of donors found at the Bush 2005 Inaugural Committee web site includes a maximum $250,000 donation from the Washington Television Center. http://www.inaugural05.com/donors.

The Washington Television Center is a Unification Movement Closely Associated Entity controlled by Moon through a series of shell and operating companies. This is the name for the office building at 650 Massachusetts Ave., NW in Washington, DC that houses Atlantic Video, Inc. and Nostalgia Network, Inc. also known as GoodLife TV which recently changed its name to AmericanLife TV.

The Moon organization purchased the building in mid 1991 in the name of the Washington Television Center, L.P. The managing partner at the time of purchase was a Delaware corporation known as WTC Realty, Inc. The officers and directors of WTC Realty, Inc. are Moon followers who have included Dong Moon Joo President of News World Communications, Inc. the publisher of the Washington Times.

The 2004 Property Record for the District of Columbia shows the current owner of 650 Massachusetts Ave. as the Washington Television Center C/O US Property Development Corp. Dong Moon Joo is listed as President US Property Development Corp. in the latest corporate filing made by the company with the Virginia State Corporation Commission.

According to commercial credit reporting service Dun & Bradstreet US Property Development Corp is a subsidiary of One Up Enterprises, Inc. which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unification Church International a for profit company formed in Washington, DC in 1977.

In the following article Dong Moon Joo notes that attendees of a World Media Association function plan to visit the Washington Television Center. The Washington Television Center has been a show piece of Moon's Washington, DC media and real estate conglomerate for some time. http://www.wmassociation.com/proceedings/21wmc/joo.html

Both the elder and younger Bush praised Moon's religious outreach group in December.

There's much more on the World Television Center at a Unification Church Web site, True Parents.

Here, for example, Moon declared:

"Schools will no longer be necessary in the future. I am making a head start on this. We have entered the age of video-based education. I have built up good rapport with all the world's scholars. Inviting scholars in every discipline, I am making arrangements with them to produce videotapes. I am already carrying out that project at the Washington television center."

Moon's $55 million Washington Television Center building also houses the Bureau of Tobacco, Alcohol and Firearms. Its Web site boasts clients ranging from PBS to The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. Moon's widely-connected broadcast infrastructure of studios and production companies has made many stations hesitant to criticize him. (However, Jon Stewart, after last year's Crown of Peace scandal, referred to Congress's ceremony for Moon as "crowning crazy foreign people king.")

"John Gorenfeld: The first man on the Moon"
-- Ana Marie Cox ("Wonkette," Time.com Washington editor)

"Thanks to the superb reporting of John Gorenfeld on Salon.com and his indispensable Web page, Moon's shenanigans are routinely scrutinized. Maybe some of Gorenfeld's discernment will rub off on preachers and politicians."
-- Tony Norman, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette columnist

"The scene summoned the moment in Robert Graves's "I, Claudius" when Emperor Caligula declares himself a god in the Roman Senate; a fawning solon instantly offers a prayer."
-- New York Times editorial on the Crown of Peace scandal

"I am happy that our work is being challenged and improved in consistency, openness and coordination, by the accountability your spotlight demands. I am not talking about simply removing stuff from websites..."
-- Moon spokesman the Rev. Phil Schanker

"Instead of welcoming Reverend Moon, this government put me into prison. History will reveal the truth in the future and the American government and people will realize what an evil thing they did. What will they do then? They will bow down. Again, that is the way of natural subjugation." -- Moon in 1987

"A political movement basing its appeal on old fashioned patriotism and family values simply cannot justify an alliance with a cult that preys on the disintegration of the American family and advocates allegiance to an international social order operating with cell-like secrecy."
-- Rep. Jim Leach (R-IA)
